Richard Schwartz, Senior Advisor, has over 40 years of experience leading, managing and directing people and businesses to revenue growth and profitable margins in the high-tech, life sciences, financial services, and consulting industries.  At ipCapital Group, he integrates that experience with the Intellectual Property domain by working closely with clients to identify and solve their business issues related to patent innovation, defense and monetization predominately in the European markets.

Prior to joining Article One, Mr. Schwartz was Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Northeast region of Bridgeline Digital, a developer of web engagement management software and interactive business technology solutions.  He turned around the unprofitable region doubling revenue with gross margins growing from 35% to over 57%.  Prior to Bridgeline Digital, Mr. Schwartz was the founder and CEO of Clock Tower Associates, a strategic management consulting firm serving the financial, life sciences and high technology industries.

Formerly, Mr. Schwartz was the Vice President for Sales and Services at Level 8 Systems, a middleware software development company, and Vice President of Software Development for Hyperion Solutions (now Oracle), a world leader in financial management, budgeting and reporting software applications.  Previously, Mr. Schwartz spent over 20 years in the consulting industry as a Partner with Coopers & Lybrand and Laventhal & Horwath.  He began his career at American Management Systems (now CGI).

Mr. Schwartz commands expertise in the areas of finance and budgeting, operations, products/services, client delivery, sales and sales management. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management Science from the University of South Florida and has attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Management Executive Seminar Series.
